Mariah Toledo-Tavares is a 34-year-old mother of two, Honokaʻa Elementary and High School alumna, raised in Kukuihaele
and Waipiʻo Valley on her ʻohana’s kalo farm. Kalo Kini Swim was founded in 2013 as a passion project. A
self-taught seamstress with no prior experience in sewing or design, Mariah turned her passion into a growing
local business.
